Holland Bottoms Willow Oak Forest Preserve is located in the Mississippi Alluvial Plain. Jacks Bayou, a tributary of Bayou Two Prairie, bisects the natural area. Extensive hardwood flatwoods dominated by mature stands of willow oak characterize the natural area, with more diverse bottomland hardwood forests occupying lower sites adjacent to streams. Only 18 percent of the bottomland hardwood forests that occurred across the Lower Mississippi Valley currently remain. The natural area falls within the Holland Bottoms Wildlife Management Area and is co-managed with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC).

Travel north on U.S. Highway 67 from Little Rock. Take exit 16A and turn right at red light onto access road. Travel 2.4 miles and turn left on East Coffett Road. Travel 0.2 mile and turn right on Holland Bottoms Road. Travel 0.7 mile and turn right on gravel road at Pickthorne Reservoir. Stay right through gate. Travel 1.1 miles to Wildlife Management Area campground parking area. Proceed on foot south into natural area.
