The “Women Without Words” exhibition explores the ways in which African American women have been publicly presented in various mediums and invites visitors to consider what museum labels tell us and how our own perceptions change the way we see a piece.

Each artifact in “Women Without Words” is exhibited without context. No labels. No panels. No interpretation. Instead, patrons are invited to examine each piece and provide their own interpretation in this interactive exhibit.
