Join the DCC Education Staff for our Depot Discovery Day program on Saturday, April 19, 2025, in the DCC Depot Museum, starting at 1 p.m.

Featured today will be " I Am Helen Keller" by Brad Meltzer with illustrations by Christopher Eliopoulos. This bestselling children's book shows kids that obstacles can create heroes

When Helen Keller was very young, she got a rare disease that made her deaf and blind. After losing her ability to communicate, it would take years before she met somebody that changed her life. This person was educator Annie Sullivan who helped Helen to learn to express herself again. Helen Keller grew up to be a social activist and lead the fight against handicap discrimination. 

Reading Age - 4 - 7 years old

In addition to reading, children will participate in games and graffiti lighting. 

Refreshments will be served.
