Join Ms. Glenda and the DCC Education Staff for our Depot Discovery Day program on Saturday, March15, 2025, in the DCC Depot Museum, starting at 1 p.m.

Featured today will be "Voice of Freedom: Fannie Lou Hamer: The Spirit of the Civil Rights Movement" by Carole Boston Weatherford. This book is illustrated by Ekua Holmes and was completed in 2018.

Poems and illustrations combine to celebrate the life of Fannie Lou Hamer, a champion of civil rights, who was integral to the Freedom Summer of 1964. She also spoke at the Democratic National Convention.

Reading Age: 10 - 12 years and Grade Level: 5 - 6.

Special guest to be announced.

Refreshments will be served.
