Join the staff of the Delta Cultural Center as we welcome a new exhibit to the DCC Visitor Center on Friday, May 3, 2024, with a reception starting at 5 p.m. This new exhibit, which is on display from May 3 to June 28, will focus on the life and legacy of talented musician Louis Jordan from Brinkley, Arkansas. Jordan was influential on generations of musicians and contributed to jazz, blues, and early rock with his style of upbeat music.
On Friday, May 10, 20224, the DCC will host the first Louis Jordan Jazz on the River Concert at the Cherry Street Pavilion in downtown Helena, Arkansas.
The exhibit opening reception will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, starting at 5 p.m. in the Delta Cultural Center at 141 Cherry Street, Helena-West Helena, Arkansas. There will be refreshments, music, and a speaker. The Guest Speaker will be Stephen Koch, who is an author and song writer. Mr. Koch has written a book about the life of Louis Jordan.
