The Arkansas Music Escape Room, or the “Save King Biscuit” Escape Room as it is also referred to, was the brainchild of our previous Education Director Richard Spilman. He had visited several of these and was adamant that one would do well at the DCC. After his departure, the task of completing this project was passed on to his successor Candace Dolls. It was completed and delivered to the Delta Cultural Center in mid-2023. Our first advertising on social media was published in July 2023 and our first groups participating in the escape room took place during that month.

“Save the King Biscuit Music Festival” Escape Room at the Delta Cultural Center! Figure out the clues, find the phone numbers and unlock the locks before the tornado destroys you! We were just two minutes past the hour deadline. It was so much fun! Call Candace at the DCC to book an appointment.
The Arkansas Escape Room was created by Juanenna Williams, who is owner and founder of Doctrina Historia, LLC, in Little Rock, Arkansas. This custom-built escape room explores the history and heritage of the Arkansas Delta.

Each session will begin with a reading of the instructions. The room has already been set up.
“Your mission today is to rescue the King Biscuit Music Festival by gathering clues and collecting information about Arkansas artists. As you work the room, you’ll find 3 games that will yield clues to help you complete your mission. There are locks, puzzles, two-way radios, and clues if you get stuck. A timer is set, and you have until that time goes off to complete the mission.”
