The Delta Cultural Center will be hosting a Civil War Reenactment on Saturday, April 14, and Sunday, April 15.This Civil War Re-enactment will concentrate on a Confederate advance on Union occupied Helena on July 4, 1863, resulting in a Union victory, helping to secure southeast Arkansas for Union occupation.The first part of this reenactment will take place at Fort Curtis on Saturday, April 14, at noon.The second part of this reenactment will take place on Sunday, April 15, at 2 p.m. at the River Park (or North Helena Park if flooded).

Civil War School Days Event

The Delta Cultural Center will be hosting a Civil War school days event on Friday, April 13.Students who attend this program will discover a wide variety of programs by re-enactors and local volunteers related to the Civil War in Delta with programs on a variety of topics such as Civil War artillery, infantry, women in the Civil War, the Moore-Horner house and the USS Tyler.Space is limited so reservations are required.Please contact education coordinator Richard Spilman at (870) 338-4350 or at [email protected] for more information or to register.
