Arts On Tour

The Arts on Tour roster lists a broad spectrum of Arkansas’s finest solo and ensemble performers, individual visual artists and prepared art exhibitions ready for touring within Arkansas. The online AOT listing facilitates the booking process for arts organizations, festival and event planners, schools, civic organizations and government entities interested in contracting with the artists.

The AOT program is designed to reimburse presenters who showcase Arkansas artists listed on the roster. When an AOT artist negotiates a contract with the presenter, the Arkansas Arts Council typically will subsidize 40 percent of the cost of the event as long as funds are available.

New AOT artists are selected each year through a panel process.

The Delta Brass Express is a 9-piece band specializing in 60s, 70s, and 80s jazz and rock music. The band features Ron Hall as the keyboardist and vocalist. Hall’s past experience includes national tours with Roy Mack’s 1960s and 1970s pop/rhythm and blues group “The Box Tops” (“The Letter,” “Cry Like a Baby,” “Soul Deep,” among others), and being band leader for Petrella, noted by many as the “First Lady of Country Soul.”

No band can survive without a great bass guitarist and Bill Hickman is theirs. His years of experience playing with other bands shows in his mastery of all styles. Lead guitarist and back-up vocalist Jerry McCoy began as a Nashville studio musician. His credits are many, having toured with Ronnie Milsap, The Allman Brothers and other great performers.

The brass in DBE begins with founder Mike Bryant. His air force band background, music education degree from University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) and extensive playing experience provide a valuable foundation for DBE. Music educator and saxophonist Gary Meggs comes from Monticello where he is currently the director of bands at UAM. Megg’s skills are not limited to just the sax, as he also soars as a flute and clarinet player. Leslie Oden, Delta Brass Express’ newest member, comes to the band from Texas. Originally trained in classical music, she has developed her style by exploring and performing a variety of genres from standards to country swing, classical to classic rock.

Drummer, Jack Pritchett earned his degree at the University of Central Arkansas with an emphasis in instrumental education and a minor in percussion. Trumpeter, David Laubach’s musical experience started in seventh-grade at Chaffin Junior High School in Fort Smith, Arkansas. In the last 47 years, he’s enjoyed performing with many varied music ensembles.
