Arts On Tour

The Arts on Tour roster lists a broad spectrum of Arkansas’s finest solo and ensemble performers, individual visual artists and prepared art exhibitions ready for touring within Arkansas. The online AOT listing facilitates the booking process for arts organizations, festival and event planners, schools, civic organizations and government entities interested in contracting with the artists.

The AOT program is designed to reimburse presenters who showcase Arkansas artists listed on the roster. When an AOT artist negotiates a contract with the presenter, the Arkansas Arts Council typically will subsidize 40 percent of the cost of the event as long as funds are available.

New AOT artists are selected each year through a panel process.

Brick Feld’s truly unique combination of blues, Gospel, Americana, and folk music with an array of instruments earns its lead singer Rachel Fields the title of “Queen of the Ozark Gospel Blues.” Due to the soul-soothing nature of music, music lovers began calling the group’s performances their “church,” or their “therapy.” Soon, Brick Field’s “Blues Therapy” was born.

Brick Fields’ music is more than blues, however. Their sound has been called “a cleansing of the soul” by the Nashville Blues society, and Rachel has been called “a National Treasure!” by Jude Gold of Jefferson Starship.

Brick Fields began in 2007 when lead guitarist Larry Brick met and married vocalist Rachel Fields, and began playing music together in the tourist town of Eureka Springs—home of artists, free spirits, and several annual music festival, including the Ozark Folk Festival and the Eureka Rhythm and Blues Weekend. Over the years, Brick Fields has won numerous awards for their music, and since 2012, the performers have hosted Northwest Arkansas’s longest running weekly live music event at Murano’s in Fayetteville.

Brick Field’s Blues therapy recently won the Ozark Blues Society Blues Challenge for the third time, and the group went on to represent Northwest Arkansas at the 2020 International Blues Competition on Memphis. There, in a field of over 260 performers, they advanced to the semi-finals. Some would say this puts them in the top 40 of the best blues bands in the world.

Brick Fields has shared their music across the United States and did a tour of Israel in 2015. Working more than 225 regional shows a year and featuring 5 official album releases, Brick fields is a “treasure” and one of Northwest Arkansas’s hardest working groups.

Larry and Rachel’s music is ever evolving, charming venues with an intimate, relaxed atmosphere as the acoustic duo tells stories of their lives and musical roots. For larger venues, Brick Fields Blues Therapy guarantees a full-on band experience that brings the house to its feet.
