Arts On Tour

The Arts on Tour roster lists a broad spectrum of Arkansas’s finest solo and ensemble performers, individual visual artists and prepared art exhibitions ready for touring within Arkansas. The online AOT listing facilitates the booking process for arts organizations, festival and event planners, schools, civic organizations and government entities interested in contracting with the artists.

The AOT program is designed to reimburse presenters who showcase Arkansas artists listed on the roster. When an AOT artist negotiates a contract with the presenter, the Arkansas Arts Council typically will subsidize 40 percent of the cost of the event as long as funds are available.

New AOT artists are selected each year through an panel audition/interview process twice a year that involves an informal presentation and a discussion of marketing and promotional plans with panel members.

Turn your creative spirit into exciting colorful art in this one, two or three day Texturing/Acrylic Skins workshop. The variations for this technique yield so many different looking results, that you will be amazed at what you can do even if you have never painted before.  Acrylic skins are another way to add “Bling” to a “not-so exciting” painting.

Ann Snyder, instructor, will explore acrylic skins, papers, paint, mediums, texture components and techniques.  Texturing is one of the easiest of all art forms to explore, since everyone has most of the materials within easy reach.  No art experience needed—only a desire.   Snyder will begin each session with exciting, fun-filled demonstrations followed by lots of time to create. The workshop is for all ages – from eight year olds to senior citizens. Everyone knows how to glue.
