Arts On Tour

The Arts on Tour roster lists a broad spectrum of Arkansas’s finest solo and ensemble performers, individual visual artists and prepared art exhibitions ready for touring within Arkansas. The online AOT listing facilitates the booking process for arts organizations, festival and event planners, schools, civic organizations and government entities interested in contracting with the artists.

The AOT program is designed to reimburse presenters who showcase Arkansas artists listed on the roster. When an AOT artist negotiates a contract with the presenter, the Arkansas Arts Council typically will subsidize 40 percent of the cost of the event as long as funds are available.

New AOT artists are selected each year through a panel process.

Amy Eichler is a Fayetteville native and full-time acrylic and oil painter who focuses on colorful figures, animals, and anything with eyes and a personality. Her background in dance performance, teaching, and choreography has influenced her work to emphasize expressive color, movement, and character and to appreciate the performance aspect of visual art. Most often incorporating an alla prima approach with a limited color palette of 3-5 paints, Amy pushes color in nature to their most saturated, richest hues and uses contrast and negative space to highlight the subject of her paintings. Amy’s love of teaching has brought her to instruct at multiple locations including Eureka Springs School of the Arts, Crystal Bridges Museum, and virtual and in-person workshops reaching students around the globe.  She sells her artwork across the world from her online store www.amyeichlerart.com and across the region in galleries, shops, and local exhibits.  Amy holds a degree in Art from the University of Arkansas and is represented by Art Ventures Gallery in Fayetteville, AR.  She now resides in Rogers, AR with her husband, toddler, and young baby.

3-day Intermediate/Advanced Workshops

Capture the energy and personality of your favorite animals while learning to use your own intuitive color palette and brushwork in Amy’s acrylic workshops.  Artists will learn to plan slow and paint fast to capture the artistic energy of their paintings quicker while allowing a design to develop within the negative space of the canvas. Artists will work to loosen up their brushwork, learn the benefits of a limited color palette, and work on a variety of larger canvas sizes. Workshop includes 3 days of instruction (9-4/4:30), opportunities to complete 3-5 studies/paintings, artist demos, and individual critiques and assistance.  Advanced workshops available for those who desire to paint the human figure or portrait.

3-hour Beg-Adv Pet or Animal Workshops

Have a pet you’d love to paint? Amy will teach you to paint your pet or favorite animal on a 12" x 12" canvas in a 3-hour acrylic painting workshop for beginner to advanced levels. All participants will leave the event with new painting skills and a freshly finished painting. All materials provided including canvas, brushes, and paints.
