My most recent presentations to artists have been focused around collage and low cost materials for creative ideas. My focus for most of my presentations are about cultivating creative thinkers and tapping into ways to leverage digital tools to document and present artist ideas. I am in the process of designing my own website to market and sell my own work. My own work and the process is documented on my Instagram. I purposely post so that I am teaching people how to leverage social media in a positive way to motivate and cultivate an arts platform. I am an advocate to empower artists to reach their full potential.
I have been an art educator for 29 years and a State and National Art Education leader for over 20 years. I am currently the Co-President for the Choice Art Interest Group for the National Art Education Association. I am very comfortable teaching all school levels and adults. I present at the State level and the National level annually. I publish and present in magazines, online conferences, and on my art education blog: Art Around – Artists and Art Educators Connections. https://schultzjoy.wordpress.com/ I am transitioning to be a full-time artist with the need to continue to educate in the community. I specialize in painting, drawing, printmaking, and ceramics. I have skills in digital photography and Photoshop. I also connect student voice and choice to real-world issues and service-learning. In 2018, I completed a Statewide presentation to artists/art educators focused on collage and low-cost materials for creative ideas. The focus for most of my presentations pursue creative thinking and tapping into ways to leverage digital tools to document and present the artists' ideas. I specialize in providing student agency in creating art (Choice Art). I feel it’s vital that students have a voice and choice in the direction of their artwork. I inspire educators and students to leverage technology and social media in a positive way to motivate and cultivate a voice for their artwork. I am an advocate to empower artists to reach their full potential.
