As a teaching artist, director, playwright, actor, and singer songwriter, Jennifer's classes and workshops are aimed to engage, inspire, and encourage young artists as they learn and explore the world of the performing arts through imagination, movement, cooperation, and voice. Her goal is to give young artists the discipline and tools they need while still allowing them to have fun, explore their own creative ideas through self-expression, play games, and follow their impulses. Jennifer loves watching her students find confidence in themselves, realize they can make strong creative choices, and have fun in the process!
For over a decade, Jennifer has worked with all ages, mostly K-12, teaching acting, movement for actors, playwrighting, Shakespeare, character building/storytelling, playwrighting musical theatre, and voice.
She holds a B.A. in Theatre from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Onstage performance credits include A Murder is Announced, The Wizard of Oz; Metal Children, Lilies on the Land, Lysistrata, The Christians, Man of La Mancha, Top Girls, and Macbeth (University of Arkansas), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Trike Theatre), Into the Woods (Arts Center of the Ozarks), and Monologist for Theatre For One, a part of the Arktype Festival of New Works. Currently, Jennifer works mainly with Arts Live Theatre (ALT) as a teaching artist, and director. ALT directing Credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Tempest, A Wrinkle in Time, Plain Kate, T 'was the Night, and The Nobody Academy of Misfit Magic. She has worked with TheatreSquared, Artist Laboratory Theatre, Trike Theatre, and Rockhill Studios. As a playwright her works include Rock Dogs the Musical, Waiting, Another Year at Wizarding School, Heartsong, and Wishes, as well as adaptations of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's' Dream, and The Tempest. Jennifer's work has been workshopped and produced. Her 10-Minute Play, Waiting, was selected to be part of the 2018 ArkType Festival of New Works and has been published in UARK ScholarWorks.
