Art wasn't a part of my life until recently. I am self-taught. I won second place in an art contest in New York City. I have had work shown and sold in
Fayetteville and Little Rock, Arkansas. I recently had my art shown in the Prison Story Project across Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas.
I started doing art out of necessity and peace of mind from being locked-up in solitary confinement for 23-24 hours a day for over 26 years. I am only
allowed the bare minimum of materials to work with which include ten 2 oz. bottles of paint, 10 paint brushes, paper canvases, glue, popsicle sticks,
and emory board to use as sand paper.
