THE ARTIST REGISTRY IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR SUBMISSIONS OR REGISTRATION.

The online Arkansas Artist Registry is a free service provided to the visual arts community. Visual artists may post contact information, a link to their website and display up to 10 images of their work. The registry does not include films at this time.

Benefits:

It is an excellent tool for visual artists who would like a web presence, and for arts enthusiasts and supporters to discover the rich variety of visual artists in Arkansas.
Artist Registry members receive our e-newsletter and e-blasts as well as information about workshops, competitions, calls for entry and other postings. Members are also eligible to participate in Small Works on Paper, the annual juried visual art exhibition sponsored by the Arkansas Artist Registry.

The Junkyard Birds is an apocalyptic story on how life will evolve after humans no longer exist on Earth. Somehow nature finds a way continue. Every bird created in this series is made from items found (during a dogwalk) within one mile of my home. After some cleaning, the items are used in its found form. The process is like a puzzle, in which the imperfect pieces fit in a serendipitous fashion. Paper, textile and wire are the only items that I alter. The names of these fantasy bird breeds, were inspired by the street they were found on, or the story that unfolds as I played with the materials. I created the ARF & Soul series to illustrate the parallels in dog and human lives. I often wonder: Do dogs dream about being someone else? Do they have ambitions and desires like humans? Do they deal with many of the social issues that are in our society? Each represents my interpretation of a “dog person” along with what I imagine their thoughts are on love and life.
