Growing up in the picturesque foothills of the Ozark Mountains nurtured my love of art. My childhood sculpted the artist that I have become. My parents were skilled laborers who taught me how to work with my hands and instilled an ethic of dedication and diligence. I attended school at Higland for 13 years and college at ASU Jonesboro. I now reside on a quaint farm close to the Strawberry River's famous Peebles Bluff. I am an Art Educator who currently teaches at Highland Middle School-ironically, the very place I received my first scholastic art award. I am a member of the Spring River Art Gallery and my work has also been displayed in exhibits across the state. Many artists have a focus, but as a teacher I feel the need to be versed in all media. Therefore, I first establish an idea and then choose the best media to relay the final product. My work ranges from realistic to abstract-always giving hints of the nature and beauty that surround me in the Arkansas Ozarks.
