Artist Statement
My work is diverse to keep my creativity alive and moving.
During this time of plague and rumors of wars, I intend to show that there is beauty and a bond between all the fragments that makes us whole. Something to give the viewer pause and hope. Art stitched, photographed and painted creating memories for the future.
The focus of my art is to explore the lighter side of memories, to savor the good and the hopeful.
Artist Bio
Cathy remembers from an early age watching many of her family members make embroidery by hand with a needle and thread. Which inspired her to join them in their creative fiber endeavors at an early age.
In 1985, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of South Dakota in Art/Photography where she also studied drawing.
Cathy is listed in the Arkansas Arts Council registry. Her work has been published by Author Pictures at Lebrecht and in books published by Harper Collins.
She lives in Conway, Arkansas, USA with her husband, two cats, 14 chickens and 3 rabbits.
