Arts can unify a community! Let's talk about where we are, where we have been, and what we could do in the future to cultivate a burgeoning art community in the Arkansas Delta. Hear from local artists, educators, and activists on this subject. The event is open to the public and refreshments will be served.
Let us work together to make, not only Phillips County, but the entire Arkansas Delta an art-based community that leads the region.
In honor of National Women's Month, our guest speaker will be artist Sharon Killian, who currently resides in Fayetteville. Although Ms. Killian was born in Kingston, Jamaica, she lived most of her life in the New York/District of Columbia area before moving to northwest Arkansas. The skyscape and landscape of that part of the state fuels her work. In addition to being an educator, Killian is and has served on numerous art commissions and councils. Her work can be found in both private and corporate collections.
