Arkansas Artist Registry

THE ARTIST REGISTRY IS CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR SUBMISSIONS OR REGISTRATION.

The online Arkansas Artist Registry is a free service provided to the visual arts community. Visual artists may post contact information, a link to their website and display up to 10 images of their work. The registry does not include films at this time.

Benefits:

It is an excellent tool for visual artists who would like a web presence, and for arts enthusiasts and supporters to discover the rich variety of visual artists in Arkansas.
Artist Registry members receive our e-newsletter and e-blasts as well as information about workshops, competitions, calls for entry and other postings. Members are also eligible to participate in Small Works on Paper, the annual juried visual art exhibition sponsored by the Arkansas Artist Registry.

I paint environments that contain a sense of place without literal representation. My work is a contemplation of the landscape and atmosphere I live within. Daily I walk in my work surroundings, exploring, collecting, sketching or simply observing. When I return to the studio an internal map or pathway into color and form begins to emerge on canvas based on my emotional, spiritual or psychological reactions to the environment. I extract the essence from nature and experience and explore the mysteries through abstract painterly marks and colors that emanate light. These reactions combined with my painting process add layered ingredients into the surface that unites drawing with painting and current life experiences with remembrance. Through varied thickness or tranparent layers of paint, forms emerge from memory integrating ethereal light and visual weight. My desire is to create an atmospheric space offering an out of the ordinary reality.
