TRADITIONAL HOLIDAY FUN TO BE FOUND AT THE OLD STATE HOUSE MUSEUM’S HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE

LITTLE ROCK--The traditions of joyous family holiday celebrations past can be relived at the Old State House Museum’s annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 7, 2008, from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m.
Visitors of all ages will find something to enjoy and participate in. Hands-on activities available to children include opportunities to create unique seasonal items like ornaments and cards. There will be lots of delicious cookies and punch, and songs of the season will be performed by local groups in the museum’s 1885 House of Representatives Chamber and River Front Room.
Performers include the following ensembles: Pulaski Heights Elementary, Terry Elementary, Top of the Rock Chorus - Sweet Adelines, St. Edwards Catholic Church Children’s Choir, Purpose, UALR Guitar class solos and small ensembles, Ronis Suzuki School of Classical Guitar, and Arkansas Classical Mandolin.

ABOUT THE OLD STATE HOUSE MUSEUM The Old State House Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Guided tours are available seven days a week; please call in advance for group tour reservations at (501) 324-9865. Admission to the museum is free.
The Old State House Museum is a museum of the Department of Arkansas Heritage and shares the goal of all seven Department of Arkansas Heritage agencies, that of preserving and enhancing the heritage of the state of Arkansas. The other agencies are the Arkansas Arts Council, Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, Delta Cultural Center, and Mosaic Templars Cultural Center.
