ST. PATRICK’S DAY CELEBRATED AT THE OLD STATE HOUSE MUSEUM FOLLOWING PARADE

LITTLE ROCK--The Old State House Museum celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with an afternoon of family fun at the Shamrock Celebration on Saturday, March 15, 2008, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The event will take place outdoors, on the lawn of the Old State House Museum, following the 9th annual Little Rock St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Visitors of all ages will find something to participate in; Search for a pot of gold in the scavenger hunt, create holiday-themed buttons, design your own bracelets with St. Patrick’s Day beads, and play games. The exhibits of the Old State House Museum will also be open to visitors, including the recently installed First Families of Arkansas exhibit.

About the Old State House Museum
The Old State House Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Guided tours are available seven days a week; please call in advance for group tour reservations at 501.324.9865. Admission to the museum is free.
The Old State House Museum and Historic Arkansas Museum are museums of the Department of Arkansas Heritage and shares the goal of all seven Department of Arkansas Heritage agencies, that of preserving and enhancing the heritage of the state of Arkansas. The other agencies are the Arkansas Arts Council, Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, Delta Cultural Center, and Mosaic Templars Cultural Center.
