Approximately 30 volunteers recently participated in an Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission (ANHC) Volunteer Clean Up Day at Dardanelle Rock Natural Area. Participants removed roadside trash and invasive plant species, assisting ANHC in maintaining the natural area.
The mayor of Dardanelle, Carolyn McGee; the Daughters of the American Revolution; Arkansas Climber's Coalition; students from Arkansas Tech University’s Fisheries and Wildlife Program; and the River Valley Chapter of Master Naturalists participated in the volunteer day. About 15 bags of trash were removed from the natural area, as well as invasive plant species.
